Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Software Test Engineer to join the QA team at TSS Consultancy Pvt. Ltd. The role involves ensuring the quality, functionality, and stability of enterprise-level products through systematic manual testing and client coordination.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software testing principles, defect management, and client-facing communication. You will work closely with developers, business analysts, and support teams to identify issues, improve processes, and ensure a seamless client experience.


What You’ll Do

Testing and Quality Assurance

  • Plan, design, and implement test cases and test scenarios based on project requirements.

  • Write and maintain business value test cases for automation and regression testing.

  • Collect and organize detailed execution results and testing evidence.

  • Ensure that all testing outcomes are accurate, documented, and easily accessible for review.

  • Analyze failed tests, log and track defects using Jira or similar bug-tracking tools.

  • Identify, reproduce, and resolve bugs raised by clients within agreed timelines.

  • Test fixes and conduct post-resolution follow-ups to confirm complete issue resolution.

  • Communicate and collaborate with the QA and development teams to improve testing standards, tools, and practices.

Client Support and Documentation

  • Prepare structured documentation and test cases to help clients test functionality independently.

  • Record, track, and document the problem-solving process from identification to resolution.

  • Continuously enhance understanding of the system’s functionality and business use cases.

  • Provide feedback and suggestions for product enhancements and system improvements.

  • Prepare and maintain MIS reports, daily task summaries, and periodic performance updates.

  • Support clients through calls, remote sessions, or on-site visits to help them understand and validate system behavior.


Must-Have Skills

  • Strong passion for software testing and quality assurance.

  • Good knowledge of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle).

  • Thorough understanding of manual testing concepts and the defect life cycle.

  • Ability to write clear and effective test cases, test scenarios, and test documentation.

  • Basic knowledge of SQL with the ability to write and execute queries for validation.

  • Familiarity with Agile methodology and Scrum/Kanban testing practices.

  • Understanding of different testing types (functional, regression, system, smoke, etc.) and when to apply them.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to think critically, solve problems creatively, and manage time effectively.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Word for documentation and reporting.


Good to Have

  • ISTQB Certification or similar qualification.

  • Hands-on experience with Postman, JMeter, or REST API testing.

  • Training or certification in manual testing or QA processes.

  • Basic knowledge of the BFSI domain or regulatory compliance.

  • Familiarity with different operating systems and basic networking.

  • Experience using or exploring AI-based testing or QA support tools.
